redneckgaijin: (WLP business sexy)

Finally picked up my photos at Wal-Mart from AnimeFEST. (Disposable cameras suck, but they're all I can afford. If anyone wants to suggest a digital camera, let me know a good model and I'll add it to my Amazon wish list and let you buy it for me.)

Anyway, here's what my booth looked like this year:

Much better traffic area than last year, although there were two unfortunate things about it. First, the side I decided to set up as the adults-only section (right of pic) turned out to be on a traffic line of its own- just out of sight on that corner is the elevator for handicapped access to the lower floors of the Hyatt Regency. Also, set up out of sight to left Saturday and Sunday was a face painter who used airbrushing... plus hair coloring that comes in an aerosol can... and the air flow drifted the exhaust fumes and leftover glitter and paint over onto WLP's shirts, dammit.

Anyway, next up here's two women wearing their purchases. The Catgirls shirt was the big seller of the con- and it and Pledge will be officially available for mail order as of tomorrow!

However, there was one event on Saturday that, well, it made my whole damn convention. You see, the Hyatt rooms have on their beds extremely large spherical pillows. Earlier in the con [livejournal.com profile] ichigo_babe had shown me cel-phone photos of how that could become very, well, phallic... but -this- young woman and her friends, having walked past the WLP booth earlier in the con, decided to use them for a different purpose. "Hey, mister! What do you think of THESE?"

They then offered to let me pose with her, which I did. (Damn, I'm fat...)

And I then took opportunity to do something I could never, ever get away with if those had by some miracle of God and exemption from gravity been real:

That was the silliest thing I've encountered at a convention in years, and it REALLY made my whole weekend. In the spirit of things, I offered the young woman, in seriousness, a "Pledge" shirt free if she'd let me take a pic of her wearing it... without the pillows. No shirt I had would fit over those.

She returned much later to collect her shirt:

Sigh... from gargantuan to nothingness. Que lastima!

(Oh... from the conversation in her group during both visits, she's in a committed Lesbian relationship. Sorry, guys, look elsewhere for your gigantic-bust-cosplay fantasies...)

EDIT: I have been reminded that I am not talking like a pirate, as today calls for. Fine. I herewith shall talk like a pirate.

ahem Information wants to be free! If you still have a copy, I'm not stealing anything by making a copy for myself and 10,000 friends! Besides, it's not like artists need money to create- they'd create stuff anyway, whether or not they got paid for it! It's immoral to demand that I give up my freedom for your greed, man!

ahem There. I am now done talking like a pirate for another year.

Not gonna buy it for you, but this guy (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000CQXD7Y) is $90 ($80 if you buy used) - how many disposables do you go through in a year? Don't forget to add the cost of developing.

Only four so far this year, and not likely more than two more. Even with developing, the cost for this year is only half the price you quote.

So the camera pays for itself in two years - and provides exponentially better quality pictures. having the $90 at one time may be an issue, of course.

First, having the money at one time, and being able to spare it, is a major issue.

Second, having a camera compatible with my aged system is a MAJOR issue- one of many reasons that a computer upgrade is in the offing. I believe I bought this machine in 2001... an eMachines box that has somehow lasted all this time.

Sent to you on the WLP boards, but it's the same as WLP's. What should I expect, and when?

(Hope it gets here by Wednesday, though... I'll be off to St. Louis next weekend, and I don't want UPS to leave something by the gate in the rain and dew and whatever for three-four days...)

In that case I'll use zip-lock baggies but it's not the pc you wanted, it's the other item.

Oh, I love all the pics, especially the cleavage dive at the end. She definately was nice to let you do that, even if she wasn't interested in you. I hope that you did not have too much shirt damage from the painting happening there, that sucked :(

Yeah, but she definitely has the right kind of "attitude" to be a WLP fan in general. Wouldn't be surprised if we saw her again at A-kon. ^_^
