Falsity in Advertising...

Food Network ad shows two fencers, in full costume, in the salle fencing... with halibut. Or herring. Or some kind of fish about eighteen inches long and just rigid enough to be fenced with.

Ten seconds of this is followed by a title card saying, "There are better ways to compete with food."

Um... no. No. No, there really aren't.

Is it me? I can't log into the WLP message board. I've tried re-activating the account more than once. Every time I get hung up at the log in screen. If I enter the wrong username and/or password, it tells me to try again. However, if I enter the correct username and password, it either gives me the log in screen again or the main index, asking me to log in. AUGH!

The FAQ doesn't give any real answers aside from contact the admin. But to do that I need to log in. But I can't log in. Nice little catch-22 there.

p.s. How's the camera?

I have no problem logging in here, and I logged in from someone else's computer on the way to St. Louis. I don't know what's wrong on your end.

The camera has not arrived; UPS tracking says it's currently in Dallas (200+ miles away) and scheduled for delivery tomorrow, as the Canadian norther blows through...

Question: have you turned off cookies on your browser lately? Checking that might help...

"There are better ways to compete with food."

One word:

trebuchet

BTW, I wore the Catgirls t-shirt yesterday and ended up telling two people to go to White Lightning if they wanted one.

I like the figure skating with lobster ad. There aren't many sports where dismemberment of your partner is merely a points loss.

Fencing with Flounders?

Yeesh! That sounds like that ad for what used to be Smith-Barney-somethingorother...Where they used the same Stupid fencing ad for about ten years now, just changing the voice-overs. It used to be somewhat funny, in a cheapskate sort of way. Now I just push the mute button.
Now, what would be funny would be rock-hard smoked hams and chain-mail.
