I so did not need this...

When things are going well, rely on Mr. Overstreet to fuck it up.
To save time, may I say first that I am NOT injured in any way, shape or form, at least nothing that has shown up in the past four hours.
I say that because of what I'm going to say next; I've had a car accident.
And caused serious damage to my grandmother's Mercury Sable, which was until about 2 PM today the only reliable vehicle on the premises.
I've been ticketed for failure to yield right of way- that's one of the two minimum-penalty ways for cops to say you were at fault in a wreck. Insurance should cover either repairs or paying off the vehicle, except for the $500 deductible.
Unfortunately, to keep my own car insurance in order, I will have to take defensive driving to get rid of the ticket. That will cost $125 before I even take the course- $30 to the State of Texas and $95 for court costs, never mind that there likely won't be a court hearing.
Then the cost for an approved defensive driving course, however much that is.
I don't know how long we'll be without wheels here. I managed to get the orders listed on the WLP Web Glob and
wlp, but it'll be a while before any more go forwards.
Oh well.
Alms... alms for the fucking stupid... alms... alms for the fucking stupid...

Date: 2005-07-02 12:47 am (UTC)I poked around online (I need to take the class myself for the insurance discount and I really do NOT want to sit through the six hour class again) and there were several vendors who listed "Livingston Municipal Court" in Polk County as one of the selections (also had various "Precinct" locations within Polk County). I suspect State Farm would accept it too. My insurance agent is also State Farm and she's been bugging me to take the class ever since the certificate from my previous class expired a year or so ago.

Provided adequate application of cash, he said, having no regular income and being essentially dependent upon the goodwill of a couple hundred porn comic fans...
