This makes me glad I haven't been able to watch the new Doctor. I hate this. It's just like the new Galactica taking the place of all supposed scifi. I want my shiny happy ending! I want my good guys do the right thing mentality and there is a utopic future somewhere. And any Doctor who lies as a rule is no Doctor of mine!!!
