Bad news, good news.

Bad news: Today, went to get two new tires for the Exploder. Also wanted an alignment- and they told me that my one-year-old tie rods were too worn and shot for them to do it.
Uh huh. I'm getting a second opinion, especially since I've only been able to get an alignment out of this shop at ALL one out of six tries over the years.
Anyway, the tires themselves were $180 for the pair, mounted, balanced and rotated. That, on top of the $80 in parts I spent on the rotor and bearings I put in over the weekend, makes $260 less in the PitW printing fund. But, at least, now the Exploder will get me to Dallas for AnimeFEST this weekend, and to Anime Weekend Atlanta later in September.
I hope.
Bad news: Amazon.com sales on PitW are in... for the two books, 29 orders for the adult version, 10 for the gen-aud version. That's more than have been pre-ordered directly from WLP... but it's a bit less in actual money to WLP than the ads WLP ran for the PitW TPBs cost. Much less the actual cost of printing for the books.
Pre-orders are still open- check http://www.peteristhewolf.com/tpb.html for info.
Now, GOOD NEWS: After taking the truck home on its new tires, new bearing, new rotor, and tightened steering- but still bad alignment- I took my grandmother to grocery shop. On the way out of town, we stopped at the vet...
... to BRING BOBBY HOME.
He's home, energetic, eating, drinking, and pissing. Quite alive, indeed. It turns out the main reason Bobby wasn't eating for so long was that the vet was feeding him canned moist food... which he won't eat. He only eats kibble.
The vet is still saying, "I dunno," about Bobby's long-term chances, and if he goes back we'll have to have him put down; this round of vet bills came up to $600, and that's with the vet cutting my grandmother a discount and basically boarding Bobby the past five days for free.
Between Bobby and ongoing plumbing issues, and of course the Exploder and the upcoming print bill for PitW, things are a bit tight at Casa Overstreet. Hopefully AnimeFEST and AWA will be quite profitable; we'll just have to see.
But in the meantime, we have an expensive but happy three-legged cat.
