Back from OwlCon...
... Okay, in brief:
BAD - Forgetting your checkcard at a Kinko's in NW Houston, not discovering it until your window's down at a pay-for-parking turnstile at Rice University... at 4 PM... in a DOWNPOUR... and having to drive back to the Kinko's, get the card, and drive back to Rice in Houston rush hour traffic, getting into the con itself at 6 PM.
BAD - $9 per day parking with TONS of empty spaces. Finding out later that, every time a student club approaches the faculty about exemptions for events, the admin raises the rates.
GOOD - Winning three straight games of Ninja Burger and thus winning a copy of the game with expansion gratis free for nothing.
EXHAUSTING - Trying to run a demo of Sakura: It's a Love Comedy! at one table and, at the same time, running a friend's dealer's table twelve feet away.
BAD - Not being able to get any pickup game of, well, ANYTHING going Saturday night from 8 on.
GOOD - My friend paying a commission for the day I worked his table. Man, I would have done it for free-
starcat_jewel, you and Russ should know this already, remember FenCon?
BAD, BAD, BAD - Waking up at 5 AM Sunday with painful, gut-cramping, burning, EXPLOSIVE diarrhea. AVOID 13th Street's cold sandwiches.
BAD - Again, no pickup games Sunday morning; about midday, I settled for two-player demos of Henshin! I'm a Magical Girl.
GOOD - Finding a new printing of Guillotine. Buy. Score.
SAD - Deciding my finances will only stretch for one game, thus passing on a replacement copy of Kill Dr. Lucky.
GOOD - Selling seven WLP T-shirts Sat. and Sun. - one Eyes, one Glomp, five D20 "Yes They're Natural."
and finally
NULL - Coming in second in a session of Robo Rally to end the convention.
Now to catch up on work and see how finances stand...
