Wind update...

KHOU-TV predicts full sustained hurricane-force winds for the entirety of Polk County- not just the southwestern corner.

National Weather Service still predicts maximum sustained winds at Livingston of 60 MPH, with gusts up to hurricane force.

Whichever version is correct, will be correct for at least twelve hours.

I'm considerably unhappy about riding out the storm here. I need to be here so long as my grandmother still harbors the intent to return here right after the storm clears, but if it were just me I'd be typing this from Texarkana or somewhere similar.

I've just posted notices to the [livejournal.com profile] wlp community, to DeviantArt, and to FurAffinity.

Grandmother and aunt go to the brick house for shelter in about half an hour- I hope.

Based on my own experience, it can be expected that cellular service, if working, will be overloaded during "normal awake" hours. Concur on electric. And may Goddess help you on the trees and branches...try to stay to interior rooms suitable for surviving tornadoes, as hurricanes have a bad tendency to spawn them in quantity as they start to lose strength. Yes, if you have a bathtub, I'd suggest sleeping in it...as much as you can sleep.

*hugs* I think you're going to get more of it than we are.

Mild seas here at Texarkana.
