The night life is wild here... no really.

Nine PM and the house hasn't burned down yet. Power's still on.

I put some food on the back porch to try to lure the cats closer to the would-have-been-a-bathroom closet on said porch. Didn't work; first a group of five, count them FIVE raccoons had to be shooed away, and then a lonely, half-naked opossum. I've put the food away and padlocked it.

No, sorry, no photos.

Winds now staying above twenty, with stronger gusts lasting minutes at a time. Still no rain yet.

Incidentally, although I can use the laptop to log on if power goes out here, I don't know what happens if and when my dialup ISP in Livingston loses power... as will inevitably happen...

Anyway, back to waiting and watching.

Depends on the ISP; they might have backup power. Also depends on the phone company; during Francis here, found out that in the rural area I lived in, BellSouth used a booster to energize the local phone system...and the booster depended on FP&L. So, when the lights went out, so did the phone.
