Shaggy dog warning.

I'm not much of a hockey fan, but I have to admire one star from the early years of the game- the only septugenarian to lead the NHL in scoring. The man, ancient and gnarled though he was, averaged three goals per game.

Let us always remember that remarkable elder statesman of the rink...

... Jerry Hattrick.

Ba-domp tshhhh!

Was he on the same team as the angry evangelical Eastern European defenseman, Cross Czech?

You know, I have forgotten. The Cross Czech, alas, had a short career before his contract was voided by management, whereupon he was called the Cancelled Czech.

He gained more lasting fame when he grew older, settled down, and became an outstanding bridge champion, going down in history as the Rubber Czech.

I heard about him! And his Aussie chess partner, Czech Mate....
