Corrupt? DeLay? Naw...
Nov. 1st, 2005 05:13 pmAs you might have heard right now, Tom deLay's lawyers managed to get the judge thrown off his conspiracy and corruption case before it even began.
On what grounds? Because, since the judge in question donates to Democratic PACs like MoveOn.org, there could appear to be "some appearance of bias."
Translated: the judge is a Democrat. deLay wants a Republican judge, especially since all elected Republican judges in Texas accepted money from deLay's PAC.
To make it better, he's now trying to get the venue of the trial changed out of Travis County- one of the few Democrat strongholds in the state.
He's looking for a Republican judge who owes him favors and a Republican jury who he can promise the moon.
Shameless, brazen, unscrupulous... and all too likely successful...
