I was fooling around a bit with WikiWLP today, adding a bunch of Wikipedia references to the "White Lightning Productions" article.
In so doing, I discovered something disturbing: bestiality is not actually against the law, in and of itself, in Texas.
If ever it was, it wasn't called bestiality, but merely a form of sodomy (often legally defined as "non-procreational sexual intercourse").
On the one hand, I don't like bestiality. Animals, so far as we know, can't give consent to sex. Furthermore, sexually transmitted disease- particularly AIDS- spreads through human-animal contact. Bestiality isn't kind to animals and it might be very bad for the rest of us. It's one of only two forms of sex- the other being sex with prepubescent children- I think should always be illegal.
On the other hand, I'm feeling much more relieved about writing werewolf porn.
(Oh, and Ben? Human style genitalia. I really mean it.)
