OvNoWriMo Day 23
Apr. 24th, 2006 12:36 amWent to a cemetery homecoming and pressed the flesh a little bit among my neighbors. Mostly positive response.
Wrote the next series of Chichi-chan strips.
Waiting until tomorrow night to pack up orders to ship Tuesday; tomorrow morning cousin comes in to clean laundry room.
Didn't fill quota today, but I'm so close to final goal it doesn't much matter:
Day 23/25
Daily Quota: 1,263/2,000
Goal: 48,566/50,000
Also sketched the beginnings of a map of the worlds named thus far and the wormhole routes connecting them. This is important for how the story ends. (In no small part the idea is derived from a plot point in
demiurgent's NaNoWriMo sci-fi effort; but it also owes to a similar conceit in Bujold's Vorkosiverse.)
Still haven't finished the current chapter.
Oh, and for those who read the story and wonder: I did not make the name Verble up. One of the eldest persons at the cemetery homecoming actually has that first name. She's sweet for not-quite-90.
(And I hope to God she never finds out I used the name for a cross between Red Sonja and Sam Vimes...)
