Armistice Day Thought (Belated)

... it ended in the Treaty of Versailles, which humiliating and crippling conditions enabled Adolf Hitler to climb to power, eventually leading to World War II...
... it brought down the Romanoff dynasty, leading to the Soviet Union and aggressive international Communism, eventually leading to the Cold War, the Chinese Civil War, Korea, Vietnam and Afghanistan- just to name a few...
... it destroyed the Ottoman Empire, leading the Middle East into the hands of colonial and post-colonial dictators plus the extreme nationalist Turks, which in turn led to the radical sect of Islam that currently drives most international terrorism...
... it created the artificial state Yugoslavia, which set the stage for a series of Balkan civil wars...
... perhaps it should have been called the War to Begin All Wars?
