Anime Punch: DO NOT ATTEND
Apr. 6th, 2007 11:08 pmPassing on some material from
bar1scorpio:
First this collection of reports and information, which brings in a very rude anti-furry incident from the concomm, toplessness and booze in the presence of minors and roughhousing in the hotel pool...
Then this bit from the con forums, involving SPIKING of water and drink cups in con suite, and an incredibly rude response from a purported representative of the concomm.
It's worth noting that Ben himself didn't encounter this stuff, and he had a good time for his own part... but the more this stuff comes out, and the more the concomm makes asses of themselves responding to it, the less likely either of us are to go or return.
This sort of shit is NOT tolerated at most conventions. Even at "relaxicons" con staffers on duty are generally told to stay sober and keep an eye on booze and pool activities and other things. When this sort of thing DOES happen, con staff reacts promptly, apologizes to the victims, and acts professionally. They do NOT EVER, EVER attack the complaintant.
I didn't have Ohio on my prowl pattern anyhow, but to anyone who might, I strongly urge you: AVOID ANIME PUNCH.
