... I've never been Catholic.
So instead I'll postpone the anger at certain political realities until tomorrow, if then- if I have time before I leave for Dallas to set up shop at Furry Fiesta.
Instead... something that will take a lot of explanation for those who don't already know.
One of (in my opinion) the most underrated webcomics on the Internet is
Arthur, King of Time and Space by
scarfman. It's half gag comic, half fan fiction, and mostly retelling of the Arthurian mythos through various time and fictional settings.
I'm not referring to that one tonight. I'm referring to the OTHER, less regular webcomic he does,
The Hero of Three Faces.
Three Faces is pretty much entirely crossover fan fiction- blending most or all of Paul's favorite sci-fi and other shows. You can see Hawkeye Pierce talking to Sarah Jane Smith, or Lois Lane and Samantha Carter discussing the major problems in their love lives. (Not that either has specifically happened- I don't recall one way or the other- but it could.)
The main feature of
Three Faces, though, is that every character is portrayed as... a triangle.
Triangle. Three Faces. Hence the name.
Not -just- a triangle, of course- but triangle is the basic body shape, and only the most simple of shapes are used to construct details like hairstyle, clothing, etc.
So, now that you know what to expect,
here's the strip I want you to look at..... okay, for those of you who need identification: the first panel is Zoe, Brigadier Lethridge-Stuart, and the second incarnation of the Doctor.
The second panel is Sarah Jane, the Brigadier again, and the third incarnation of the Doctor.
The third panel is Peri, the retired Brigadier, and the sixth incarnation (blech) of the Doctor.
And the fourth panel... is the reason I'm sharing this with you.
Because I don't want to discuss the obvious rewriting of history it would involve, or the extreme dubuiousness of UNIT declassifying, well, pretty much anything the Doctor has been involved with, ever. That would destroy the joke of the strip, for one thing.
The thing I want to point out in the fourth panel is, considering the limitations of Paul's chosen format...
... that is as close to perfect a caricature of Jeremy Clarkson as it is possible to get.
(And if you don't understand why I care, or why you should, Wikipedia is your friend. }:-{D )
