First:
this is required reading. No, really. ESPECIALLY if you call yourself either Republican or conservative- go and read it, and try to get a grip on why the rest of us are
so fucking pissed off at you.(And thanks to
kobold and
flemco for passing it on- saw it from both.)
And if you feel like making your own detailed reference list of the many sins and crimes of liberals- by all means, do so. I've got no problem whatever with people like the late John Murtha and the late Ted Kennedy, the lately convicted William Jefferson, or the still-in-power Nancy Pelosi being called on their corruption or hypocrisy. In the Republican Party, though, the racism, the hypocrisy, the corruption, the double-standards, and above all the unremitting hatred and cowardice have become systemic. I honestly don't think it's possible to build a list as comprehensive as this person did without going beyond the past ten years.
Now, to golf. Last week I shot a 119- my best round ever.
Today, on the same course, I shot a 112, including two bogeys and two pars. My back nine was 51- also a personal best, because both pars and one bogey were on it.
One of the pars went like this.
Second time round the 9-hole course, hole #6, par 4 dogleg left. First stroke off the tee, driver, good, about 200 yds. downrange. Second stroke, 5 wood, badly sliced, just barely remained in play on the edge of woods right. No play from the lie except to chip left and a little backwards with a pitching wedge to the fairway.
This left me about a 60 yd. chip shot to get on the green, and the greens were extremely fast today. I kept the pitching wedge, managed to hit it fairly high and long...
... the ball landed just short of the green, hopped, rolled, rolled, rolled...
and
slid
down
the
flag
stick
in
to
the
cup.I sank a par shot from
sixty motherfucking goddamn yards out. I'll probably NEVER do that again so long as I live.
And then I parred the next hole, too- not only the first time I've had two pars in any round, but two CONSECUTIVE pars.
A certain golf ball is going onto a plaque as soon as I can figure out how to do it.
And I'm going to LAMINATE the score card.
