1. How many places have you lived in?
As an adult, five different places.

2. Which one was the best?
On the whole, the one I'm in now- the added-on trailer house on ancestral family land. (And yes, that means there were SERIOUS problems with all the other places.)

3. Which one was the worst?
My dorm room at Jester Hall (at the time the second largest dorm in the world), University of Texas at Austin.

4. What is your favorite room of the house - the 'make-or-break' room if you were purchasing or renting?
Bathroom.

5. Do you have a favorite architectural style? Modern? Craftsman? Southern Gothic? Ranch? Terrace house? Something else?
I'm fond of the "standing under its own structural rigidity" school of architecture.

6. Would you want to live in an unusual home - like a tipi, yurt, or RV?
No. Only a house is a home, to me.

7. Does your area have homes with basements?
No. The water table is pretty high, the soil is a mix of porous sand and shifting clay, and most of the houses are of the pre-fab or trailerish varieties anyway- which means they don't stand on any concrete foundation at all.

8. Which would you rather have: a pool, a game-room, a custom home-theater room, or a loft?
Game room, without question, although I'd want to be close enough to civilization to have other players in it. (Right now I'm VERY not.)

9. Do you like fireplaces?
Not one bit. My stepfather had a fireplace built into the home I lived in through junior high and high school. It was one of my unpaid chores to chop the wood for the fireplace, but I was almost never allowed close enough to the fire to get warm- 90% of the heat went straight up the chimney. (Which is a much higher percentage than the smoke or soot.)

10. Carpet or hardwoods/tile?
Carpet for any floor that you don't have a reasonable expectation of getting wet. Ideally, tile for kitchen, dining room, bathrooms and utility room.

11. Country kitchen or tiny galley?
Country kitchen- by which I presume you mean BIG, so that there's room for all the food when company/family comes over. A tiny kitchen is only useful for people lonelier than I really want to be, given a choice.
