... mostly unimportant and irrevelant, but I woke just now ahead of schedule after a dream fade-to-black to a crowd of congoers and would-be world conquerors, led by a giant viking risen from a faux-stone tomb (this was a convention hall, after all), all singing:

Three pints down an' three pints up,
Gi' me a drop in me cravin' cup,
Three pints down an' three pints up,
Gi' me a drop in me cravin' cup.

Very twee, soft, sweet. And I'd swear I'd actually heard it somewhere before, but Google knows nothing.

(And yes, [livejournal.com profile] doctorpinkerton, you were in the dream, too. Hell, you started off the sequence, with me walking past the door to the I Will Take Over the World Rant Contest just as you began the COG presentation with the obligatory video.)

Anyway, back to bed for an hour before I have to get up and prep for jury duty. I just wanted to write the lyrics down before I forgot 'em.

In order to collect the insurance settlement on the Exploder, I need a clean title.

I don't currently have the title. It was lost quite some time ago.

I also don't have the documentation of release of lien from when the last payment was made. Also lost.

And I'm not at all sure- in fact I REALLY doubt it- that I ever filed to clear the lien from the title.

So, here's the plan for tomorrow:

(1) Drive to Beaumont- 50 miles away- and file lost title and get a replacement.

(2) Drive to Livingston- 30 miles from my house in the OTHER DIRECTION, i. e. 80 miles from Beaumont- to the bank that held the lien and get the release. (Hopefully I can get same-day service.)

(3) Drive BACK to Beaumont- ANOTHER 80 miles- and get the clean title.

(4) Drive home, phone the insurance people, and try to talk them into driving out past BFE to where my house is.

All of which might be short-circuited if the Department of Motor Vehicles demands that my grandmother (who was co-signer on the loan, and thus also on the title) actually be in attendance to get the title... which, among other things, will pretty much default everything to being conducted by mail, which will slow the process down by WEEKS, which is not acceptable... grrrr.

It could be worse. I could be trying to get the British mails to acknowledge a change of address.
