A. Pick 16 of your favorite movies.
B. Then pick one of your favorite quotes from each movie.
C. Post the quotes in your journal.
D. Have those on your friends list try to guess what the movie is without Googling, you cheating fuckers.
E. Strike out the quote once it has been correctly identified and place the guesser’s username directly after the quote.
F. Hints available for those not yet guessed.

1. "Is it P. M. or A. M.?" "A. M. Very, very A. M." - [livejournal.com profile] illyanna

2. "It was a boring conversation anyway." - [livejournal.com profile] nsingman

3. "I want a Last Supper with only twelve disciples and only one Christ!" - [livejournal.com profile] faxpaladin

4. "I'm Joan of Arc! What are you?" "Dinner!"
HINT: This movie begins with the accidental death of the male lead.

5. "I'm Kilraine, and I damn all gentlemen." - [livejournal.com profile] faxpaladin

6. "It comes in PINTS?" - [livejournal.com profile] lolleeroberts

9. "Space pirates! Scourge of the galaxy! Coming soon to a theater near you, rated R!"
HINT: If you're between twenty-eight and thirty-eight now, it's almost impossible for you to NOT have seen this '80s kids movie- even if you hate science fiction.

10. "What, you don't think I can know a girl?"
HINT: The line is repeated a couple of times in the movie, but it's first delivered by John Wayne.

11. "Our situation has not improved." - [livejournal.com profile] bar1scorpio

12. "... wait a minute! I'm not the hero! I'm the comic relief... IT'S NOT GONNA WORK!!" - [livejournal.com profile] illyanna

6 is Fellowship of the Ring.
15 is the Mouse That Roared
16 sounds like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (the jump into the river)

11 - Princess Bride?

6 - correct, and one of the few changes I liked in the whole damn thing.

15 - also correct.

16 - Possibly, but not the one I'm looking for. This line was not a scream, not was it delivered by anyone jumping off a cliff.

11 - Yyyyyyynope.

2. Star Wars (the original, or episode IV)

14 - The Last Starfighter...I think. Been over ten years since I saw it.

Right (and, sadly, that was one of the few non-cheesy quotes from that movie, at least IMHO).

3 has to be Life of Bryan by Monty Python. The line is from one of their sketches, so that is probably the movie they used it in.

Following up my own guess with a second guess: still Monty Python but it could be from And Now For Something Different

I can type goodly. And Now For Something COMPLETELY Different. I hate it when I drop words in what I typo.

Still wrong.

Correct in identifying it as a Python quote, but wrong movie.

Then it's Live at the Hollywood Bowl.

I think #16 is ST:Generations -- Data, with emotion chip newly installed, as the shitship is about to hit the fanplanet. It was a funny bit, but it gave the whole movie a shaggy-dog feel, as though everything in it was just a lead-up for that one line.

Hmmm... could I even think of 16 favorite movies to select lines from?

Correct- and to be blunt, I found it the only memorable line in an otherwise extremely forgettable movie. Generations was, in my book, very much an Odd Numbered Trek Movie... except for that one moment, which to my mind wasn't just perfect but almost -required- in the circumstances.

1.. is it Apollo 13?
11.. I want to say Indiana Jones..
12.. ummm.. Last Action Hero?
and that is all I can think of this late at night..

11 - Specifically, Indiana Jones And the Last Crusade. Sean Connery.

1 - Correct
11 - Not specific enough
12 - Correct, and I think that movie doesn't get enough credit.

1. is pinging from somewhere, I can almost hear the voices, but I can't place it

5. Gettysburg

8. ...surely not Smokey and the Bandit II?

12. Galaxy Quest

Date: 2006-08-22 12:47 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] redneckgaijin.livejournal.com
5 - Correct

8 - Surely yes. It's sad that when I think of the original movie, the only line I can think of is from the vastly inferior sequel. Burt Reynolds isn't a bad actor at all, but to my mind Dom Deluise is Burt's acting kryptonite...

12 - Nope.

8 - almost sounds like Chico Marx... can't remember the name of hte ovie where they were at the circus.

No- as has already been guessed, a lot more recent than that. (Besides, I don't remember the Marx Bros. movies well enough for quotes, although one of them- Duck Soup, I think- is definitely on my top 10 list.)

Guessing now, based on the hints:

7. O Brother Where Art Thou?

10. The Quiet Man

13. Once Upon a Time in the West
