I so did not need this.
Feb. 8th, 2011 05:27 pmSo- what with having to nail down booth space for various events and stocking or restocking on things, I've spent quite a lot more than I've taken in so far this year.
Saturday I got a check in. Good.
Monday I got an email from someone I buy stuff from: "Remember X order last September? We don't show you having paid for it..." And, as it turned out, I hadn't- I'd placed the order by phone and they'd forgotten to run my card. That was for a bit more than Saturday's check (which, incidentally, was already accounted for anyway). So- run up the plastic to near the limit.
Today, come home to discover that our oldest cat is... wobbly.
Betty Jo is over twenty years old, but until yesterday she was about as nimble and fit as any of the other cats. Today... not so much. At all. Her back feet are splayed when she walks, she sways like grass in a wind, and she can barely jump or climb (though she persists in trying). Something is obviously wrong with her hips, but I don't know what.
So, tomorrow I'm going to take her in- on my dime, since my grandmother doesn't have the cash and isn't currently willing to spend it anyway.
I really hope this isn't the final trip for Betty Jo... but, on the other hand, there's definitely no money for surgery for a cat born in or about 1990.
And I really REALLY hope the money can be found for this- it'll be about $100 at our vet for an overnight stay and exam, at least...
