The Good, the Bad, the Ugly, Part MCMLXXVIII... or thereabouts.

The Good: a "write more stuff" donation and a campaign donation, together totalling $2100.

The Bad: both in the same check, and not clearly defined, which could lead to ethics irritation later- so for now it's all being claimed as a WLP donation, and the money spent on campaign funds will be recorded as on loan from myself to the campaign.

The Ugly: the plumbers have set the day for the repair of the MASSIVE water leaks (plural) under the house for Monday... which may be a day for intensive car surgery as well, don't know yet. In the meantime, the ability to shower, wash dishes, flush toilets, etc. is considered "on borrowed time, pending final disintegration of water main".

I was told years ago that while good things usually happen as single events, troubles show up in groups. I wish you well...just be glad you aren't like the people down the street; the place is a six unit apartment setup, with underground parking. Their main supply pipe(2 1/2") for the whole complex got hit by a forklift during a remodel, and by the time the city turned off the water, every car was sitting in about two feet of water, and four cars had more water inside them than there was outside. They were without water for two days. I hope that your problems are more easily (and cheaply) repaired than theirs: four families are suing the Owners.
