Michael Badnarik, 2004 Presidential candidate and 2006 candidate for US House Dist. 10, is polling at 4% in early voting- despite spending $400,000.
Bob Smither, who raised about $15,000 for his campaign to take Tom DeLay's US House Dist. 22, is polling just under 5%.
Matthew Mosley, who like me is running for the lower house of the state legislature (Dist. 112) against only the Republican incumbent, is polling at 21%- a little better than me, for $10,000 raised.
Rock Howard, longtime Libertarian activist, candidate and lobbyist, has 19% of the vote for State Senate Dist. 14, against a Democratic incumbent, also having raised about $10,000.
Scott Jameson, running against Kay Bailey Hutchinson and Barbara Radnowfsky for US Senate, actually raised less than I did- $1000 to my $1500- and is polling under 2%.
According to the Libertarian Party's internal Candidate Tracker formula, I'm the fourth or fifth or sixth strongest candidate in Texas, Libertarian-wise. (I'm uncertain of the score- I know I haven't made 78 appearances.) The people who might be ahead of me... well, I've just mentioned them. I'm holding my own with Rock and Matthew and badly outdistancing the "leading lights" of the movement...
... but I'm still not winning. As of 8:10, no changes.
