Went to the movies...

... for the first time in at least a year and a half today.
Livingston has a single-screen cinema, built 1947. It frequently gets movies on opening day- generally stinkers, but then I consider Sturgeon an optimist when it comes to Hollywood.
Today was The Simpsons Movie.
Opening night, 5 PM matinee: ticket, -very- good cheeseburger, chips and drink, all total $6.50.
As for the movie... eh, better than most Simpsons TV episodes. Still a bit formula, except in a couple places the movie does things the TV show can't, for obvious reasons. Laugh-out-loud funny quite frequently.
Still... PG-13 or not... a trailer for Good Luck Chuck before -any- animated film is NOT a good idea.
(Oh, other trailer note: Jim Carrey is Horton in Horton Hears a Who! At least THIS time it's NOT live action.)
Oh- forgot to mention- Livingston, pop. 6,000 or so, somewhat more than an hour out of Houston, now has a GameStop. It opened two weeks ago. Set foot in it today, after the movie. Won't do so again.
