Today's news: Iran makes oblique threats against oil shipments in the Persian Gulf and Strait of Hormuz.

This is yet another in a long series of what seems like an unavoidable march to war. That worries me for two reasons: first, war with Iran would be bad for the US in so many ways it isn't funny; and second, despite this I'm at least half in favor of it at this point.

In favor of war... )

Against the war... )

Finally, the US doesn't have the credibility to gain support for a war.

It's sad when an anti-semitic madman seems more credible than the spokespersons of the United States... )
