valkyrwench has come up with an interesting variant on the Cast-the-Movie game. In this version, you recast a favorite existing movie using people you know personally. The casting can be based on physical resemblance or psychological similarity. starcat_jewel says, if she were recasting Spider-Man, I'd have me in the Peter Parker role, but I don't see it.

Anyway, recasting The Princess Bride...

Buttercup - ichigo_babe, definitely not as innocent and virginal as the original... but who is?

Westley / Roberts - Mmm, tricky. I think I'll go with Fred Perry (the Gold Digger creator)- yes, he's black, but he's the friend comes closest to both Westley's acquiesence and Roberts' wit.

Prince Humperdinck - Mmmmm... well, let's go for evil. doctorpinkerton.

Count Rugen - Try as I might, I can't think of anyone else for this role except Scott Merritt, proprietor of Pegasus Publishing. Personal bias on my part, I'm sure.

Inigo Montoya - morphyloon, the only person I can think of offhand with anything like a swordfighter physique.

Fezzik the Brute - roninjedi. TALL dude, and not the skinny-type tall either.

Vizzini - Easy. SO easy. bar1scorpio, this is the role YOU were born to play.

Miracle Max and Valerie (Valerie -is- the wife, right?) - Russ Ault of Instant Attitudes and starcat_jewel.

Sorry, no ideas whatever for the Kid and the Grandpa.
