So, I got the number 4. I have to tell 4 little known things about myself. Comment and request a number to get your number from me.

(This is going to be a little difficult. since the few things I'm not completely open about, I'm completely closed about, i. e. I will take them to the grave with me. Also, I'm going to stay out of TMI for your sakes.)

1. My driver's license says my eyes are hazel. I put that on there when I first applied because it's what my father's driver's license said his were. When I was young my eyes were a mix of dark green and brown. Today they're either light blue or gray. Of course, I'm not a good judge: eye color is something I never, EVER notice about other people.

2. I loathe funerals with a passion. This is for three reasons: (a) More often than not I don't actually know the deceased, and I'm only present to show respect for friends and distant family; on these occasions I always seem like an intruder. (b) If I do know the deceased, the thing in the casket NEVER EVER looks like the person I knew. The difference between alive and dead is so profound to me that, even as a doubter of religion in general, I'm a firm believer in the existence of souls. (c) Virtually every funeral I go to, the person preaching the funeral does practically nothing to comfort the bereaved, instead putting on his sales schtick for his religion. The last one openly said that most of us in the audience were going to burn eternally in Hell... after reading a prefunctory eulogy for the deceased line for line off a piece of paper, with five-second pauses between sentences. RAGE.

3. I was profoundly miserable for most of my childhood (say, from seven years old on) for a lot of reasons. Shortly after leaving high school I experienced the sensation, which recurred often over the next few years, that something inside me was lifting me up and that just the slightest nudge would carry me off the ground and into the sky. Looking back on it, this was a combination of happiness, freedom, and feeling like I belonged somewhere. The first was in short supply during childhood, and the other two totally absent.

4. I dream in color. My dreams were mostly nightmares growing up- I had a LOT of anxieties and phobias, still do- but today they're mostly like watching TV or a movie. I'm seldom personally involved, or if I'm in the action I'm somebody else, not me. In addition to color sight and sound, I occasionally have touch and even smell in my dreams. I don't know about taste, because I never dream about eating. I don't recall most of my dreams, but I'm sure on that one point.
