Just heard on CNN: Wendy's has accepted a takeover bid...

... from Arby's.

ARBY'S.

The fast food place, even more so than Taco Bell, guaranteed to make me seriously ill to my stomach whenever I eat there.

Well, Wendy's was a tolerable place to eat, but that's all over now, dammit.

I like Arby's, don't much care for Wendy's. Mind you, I'm not really a fan of burgers in general, so it takes a burger quality beyond any fast food place's ability (I'm talking to you too, Hardee's) to keep me interested. And other than burgers, Wendy's doesn't have a whole lot separating it from Arby's non-beef menu.

Of course, I also worked at an Arby's in high school and know what the roasts look like uncooked...and still like eating them.

That's more or less what we thought would happen when McD bought out Boston Market. But so far, the only change we've noticed is that the Boston Market tea, which used to be AWFUL, is now drinkable. Oh, and the "1/4 dark" option is now a 3-piece dark (2 legs and a thigh).

What do you expect to see happen to Wendy's?

A blending of the menus, with cooking methods and ingredients defaulting to Arby's (*shudder*) standard.

Say what?! Well, there goes having a good place to eat (Wendys). Oh well, half of the local ones have all closed, and 2 of the remaining ones have very poor counter help. So maybe having it fade into the night is a good thing in the long run.
