PAIN.

Toothache has returned, beginning yesterday, getting worse last night, and now migraine-inducing levels of pain this morning.

If my grandmother will ever get off the phone, I'm going to call the dentist. Wednesday seems an eternity away...

Why, you should have told us on Friday! I'm sure one of my colleagues would have been happy to remove the offending tooth - in fact, Dr. Z tells me he'd have been pleased to take care of your entire SKULL!!!

(a) It didn't hurt on Friday;

(b) I'd rather not have my skull removed yet- my hats would all be homeless if I did that; and

(c) on Friday I could have taken care of it myself- had the channel-lock pliers and everything.

Filbert tried this once (I'm not kidding) and just LOOK AT HOW WELL HE TURNED OUT!!!

My father did do-it-yourself tooth pulling a couple of times, too- but only when he was absolutely too broke to afford a dentist. When he could, he went in to have it done.

And this tooth, to be fair, did not come quietly. The dentist really had to wrestle with it, going through about nine needles worth of Novocaine or whatever they use now. After this experience, I don't intend to make any plier-yank attempts, only the jokes thereof.
