Joe the Plumber turns out to be a tax dodger.

And some California Republicans go racist in their local newsletter... again.

Bear in mind there's a lot I don't like about the general Democratic economic plan- not Obama specifically, but the party as a whole. On economic issues I lean a little in the Republican direction, except in emergencies like the current volatility.

But after eight years of what Nixon only wished he could have got away with, I laugh, I tell you I LAUGH at how the GOP is continually stepping on the rake.

Joe the Plumber also doesn't have a license to be a plumber. :) (He's okay now because he works for a small company and slides through a loophole, but it might put a kink in his dreams of self-employment.)

President? Shmesident!

The real action isn't going to be which talking head wins the Presidential election. The action is in the House of Representatives, where every single seat is up for grabs this November. What's so important about the House? Well, all Revenue Bills (taxes) must begin there. The House can make or break a bill on its way to the Presidential desk for signature.
All the monetary things that both Candidates are so free with will really be decided in the House of Representatives; not the White House.

You'd think someone at the GOP would be thinking before they send this stuff out. *shakes head*

You guys do realise that it was Obama who knocked on Joe's door. And Obama who answered Joe's question with his desire to "Spread the wealth around". And 24 hours later it's Joe under attack for what? Asking Obama a question?

And on Obama Bucks... how entrenched in the two party system is Anonymous?

Not exactly. Joe was on the rope line at an Obama event on Monday, asking Obama about the tax program. The strong suspicion, considering that Joe is a registered Republican voter, is that Joe was a plant from the get-go. Problem is, either nobody told McCain that he was a plant, or else McCain thought that nobody much would care about the real facts behind Joe.

Also, the attacks on Joe are incidental; they're coming because the media is fact-checking McCain.

Something which, two months ago, was pretty near unimaginable, might I add.

McCain said during the debate that Joe was (a) a plumber, (b) seeking to buy a $250k/yr or more net income business, (c) concerned about a tax hike.

What's been discovered is: (a) Joe is not licensed as a plumber and in fact works as a non-certified, non-union assistant to other plumbers; (b) $250k was the purchase price for the business, which only would net Joe about $40K per year; and (c) not only would Joe get a substantial tax cut under Obama's tax plan, but Joe failed to pay his 2007 state income tax.

All of that would be unimportant to the great wide world, except that it runs counter to the portrait McCain painted of a struggling small businessman who would see higher taxes under Obama.

Put it another way: Joe wouldn't be covered in mud if McCain hadn't been slinging the bullshit.
