The Wii weight-loss odyssey continueth...

I think the biggest enemy to my weight-loss, waist-loss goal is my dear sweet grandmother.
Today, on the grocery run, she had down on her list at one store a brownie mix that was on sale. Since her habitual grocery day is the last day of the sales, it's little wonder said brownie mix was sold out. When I told her this she said, "Oh, that's a shame- I wanted to make some for you."
"Um... whyyyyy?"
"What, don't you like brownies?"
"Not when I'm trying to lose weight!"
"Oooooooooh..."
Yeah. By the way, my grandmother really does not care much for chocolate.
Anyway, my pants waist size says 42 inches; an actual sewing tape dug out of storage says 44. It's said that for the last month, despite today's weigh-in of 230.5 pounds (starting point 12-26 was 239.6 or so). Aside from persistent joint aches and occasional muscle cramps from overdoing things (most recently after gaining a pound and a half in one day- thanks, Mamaw, for cooking chili and mashed potatoes and pretty much nothing else), I don't feel any lighter, or more energetic, or healthier.
But.
I think my endurance is building a little.
When I started out with the computer-generated workouts, one of the things it threw at me was running in place. The lowest setting is about a two-minute run (if you don't stop). The first time I did it, I nearly fell over at the end, gasping for breath, legs cramping badly- after two minutes of light, slow jogging in place.
Today I completed ten minutes of jogging without stopping or falling over and was not winded at the end of it- my legs hurt a ton, but I wasn't gasping for air. Five minutes rest later, I was able to do a thirty-minute step exercise without much trouble, after which I did another five minutes of jogging in place, again without being winded.
How much this might translated into actual, not-in-place jogging, I don't know. But it's definitely an improvement over where I was.
I've gone off the computer-generated exercises now- not burning enough calories, and most of them were at levels too easy for me. I'm leaning heavy on pure aerobics, especially the free-step I just mentioned (walk and watch DVDs at the same time). I supplement this with a la carte exercises from the yoga, strength, and Training Plus menus (the Balance exercises really don't burn much at all, calorie-wise). I also have a programmed routine of yoga and strength exercises for when I have time for a long warm-up prior to either a jog or a free-step.
All of this I do twice a day, aiming for at least an hour by the game clock each session, between 500 and 800 calories burned for the full day. (Today was a half-day due to the shopping run, so I stopped at 400 calories.) Thursday will be a half-day, since I will be loading some sort of vehicle for AggieCon (and that will be between half an hour and an hour of hard aerobic exercise).
And then my next weigh-in might be Sunday evening.
And then Monday morning- usually I weigh only after using the john, so as to be as light as possible- I'll know how badly that convention affected matters...
