This is a MUST-READ satire piece:

Our Daughter Isn't a Selfish Brat; Your Son Just Hasn't Read Atlas Shrugged.

Puts most of my former political party, and pretty much all the teabaggers, in a different light, doesn't it?

I've had "Atlas Shrugged" a few feet from me in my room for months now. Haven't been willing to actually try and read it yet.

After reading this complete line of horse shit, I'm even more uncertain if I'll read it.

I certainly am of the opinion that Eric Hague is in need of a serious beating, and that somewhere along the line, that daughter of his will get a harsh lesson in reality when no one comes to her aid, because she will not do the same.

As much as we celebrate the individual in our culture, the lone action hero taking on an army, and every now and again a real hero doing the same (See Alvin York), most of the time, it is groups of individuals that band together with common purpose to achieve goals.

This happens because sometimes you just can't stand alone. I figure in about 15 or 20 years, Hague's daughter will find herself alone in some sort of venture. She will wonder why, but never understand it because her parents taught her this bullshit line so early when she just needs to be a KID!
Of course, she might wise up before then, but you can't hope for such things.

Please don't ask me why it never penetrated that the article was satire.

Jesus. I am jaded and cynical since the first time I read that, I took it literally.
