Velan the Reticent by James "Two Lumps" Grant. It's not a parody of a swords-and-sorcery novel. It's a damn good (if short) novel that puts swords-and-sorcery in the modern sensibility. It's a story about a time that never was... telling it the way it really is.
And it kicks ass.

I've plotted five books, and the second is now over 1/3rd finished. At this rate, the second installment will be available before Xmas of 2011.
