1. What kind of soap is in your bathtub right now?
Ivory. I bought some Dawn by mistake, and my aunt uses that when she comes up to watch the grand. I can't stand most scented soaps- or scented anything.

2. Do you have any watermelon in your refrigerator?
Not at the moment. My grandmother loves it; I can't stand it.

3. Is there anything moldy in your refrigerator?
Possibly- we have two fridges, one with the defroster broken so water has to be mopped out of the bottom of it every three days or so. My grandmother keeps scrap food for a friend's dog, cooks way too much for the two of us, and forgets anything that gets shoved to the back... so I'd be surprised if there WASN'T mold in there.

4. What would you change about your living room?
Get rid of about half the couches and chairs, all the glass-plate tables, and the 8-track stereo... and, if possible, add a MAME arcade cabinet and maybe a pinball machine.

5. Are the dishes in your dishwasher clean or dirty?
Dishwasher?

6. Do you have a can of mushrooms in your pantry?
Not at the moment. My grandmother hates mushrooms. I love them, but fresh mushrooms are a pricey luxury, and since I'm not all that good at cooking them canned is good enough.

7. White or wheat/brown bread?
Wheat, but I very seldom make sandwiches- I don't like the bother for a cold snack, and I want to cut down on starches.

8. What is on top of your refrigerator?
Cereal boxes, oatmeal, rice, and plastic bags for storage.

9. What color is your sofa?
We have three- white-ish, gray, and red.

10. What color or design is on your shower curtain?
Uncolored plastic, built in to the stall, badly in need of replacement except replacement would require ripping out an exterior wall and then, most likely, repairing the walls and floor under the shower stall.

11. How many plants are in your home?
Four, mostly aloe vera or "lucky bamboo", in the kitchen window.

12. How many candles are in your home?
Some. Never counted.

13. Is your bed made right now?
Of course not- nobody's permitted in here.

14. If you have a coffee pot, what color is it?
The coffee-maker is white; the pot itself is clear. It's rarely used.

15. Electric or standard can opener?
I use a standard one. My grandmother can't grip it to turn it, though, so she has a battery-sucking handheld electric "As Seen on TV!" that has to be replaced every six months or so.

16. Comet or Soft Scrub?
Comet.

17. Is your closet organized?
Not in the least. In fact, thanks to business stuff, I can't even REACH my own closet.

18. What color is the flashlight that you use the most?
Fake chrome-metal.

19. What kinds of things are in your junk drawer?
Tools.

20. Do you drink out of glass or plastic most of the time at home?
Plastic. Glass is too good to use.

21. Do you have iced tea made in a pitcher right now?
I can't stand tea in any form, and I can't remember when my grandmother last had some.

22. If you have a garage, is it cluttered?
Technically yes, but it's more of a barn that's falling down. Nothing loved goes into it.

23. Curtains or blinds?
Curtains.

24. How many pillows do you sleep with?
Two, one to hold. Yes, I'm a bit lonely.

25. Do you sleep with any lights on at night?
Not willingly, but my computer desk is next to the bed. A POX on the engineer who thought lighting up the guts of a computer was a sensible idea!!

26. How many ceiling fans are in your home?
One that works, one that doesn't.

27. How often do you vacuum?
About once a month, in those areas where there's enough open floor to do so.

28. What color is your toothbrush?
White with blue stripes.

29. Do you have a welcome mat on your front porch?
There's a foot mat, yes, but it's been so hard-used it won't take any more dirt.

30. What is in your oven right now?
Nothing.

31. Is your microwave clean or dirty?
Clean-ish; the interior paint is flaking away from a rust area in one corner.

32. Is there anything under your bed?
I hope not- if so it's pretty much destroyed.

33. Chore you hate doing the most?
Emptying the trash can under the desk, because it requires severe contortions to squeeze past the chair, into the gap just big enough for my knees, to get the damn thing, haul it out, then rake out anything that didn't go in or spilled over.

34. What retro items are in your home?
I don't think it counts as retro if you've had it straight on from the first time round. That said: 8-track player and turntable stereo, lava lamp and glitter lamp (neither plugged in for years), Super Nintendo. The manual typewriter left some years back.

35. Do you have a separate room that you use as an office?
Mu. Portions of four different rooms in the house are used for office or storage space of one kind or another.

36. If you have a yard, who mows it?
A paid service, who comes about once a month for about $100.

37. Is there anything on your kitchen floor right now?
Cat food bowls and water bowl, plus several floor rugs to hide spots where the tile got stained by kitchen accidents a couple months after it was installed. May the day long be postponed, but when my grandmother dies those damn rugs are the FIRST THINGS on the burn pile.

38. How many mirrors are in your home?
About a dozen that I can think of, including five surrounding the sorry excuse for a bathtub in my grandmother's bathroom.

39. Do you have any hidden emergency money around your home?

My grandmother has bits and drabs here and there, and I have the change till from the convention supplies.

40. What color are your walls?
Yellow in parts of the trailer that makes up the core of the house; wood paneling for the rest.

41. Which rooms in your house have wallpaper?
None.

42. Do you have a peephole in your front door?
No- glass panel.

43. Do you keep any kind of protection weapons in your home?
Yes. Always loaded. Anyone reading this to make a shopping list be warned: I will be presuming a deadly attack on my grandmother is in progress and will act accordingly.

44. What does your home smell like right now?
How would I know? I'm accustomed to it, and smell nothing.

45. Favorite candle scent?
Not.

46. What kind of pickles (if any) are in your refrigerator right now?
Dill, most of which need to be thrown away due to sogginess. Also sweet relish- I can't stand sweet pickles, my grandmother can't stand dill.

47. Who is in the pictures you display?
My grandmother has pictures of family and friends, half of whom I can't identify. I have anime posters and fan art bought at conventions (haven't been able to get to that many art shows the last few years, though).

48. What color is your favorite bible?
This presumes I have a favorite one; it also, by the way, presumes I'm too ignorant to know that Bible is capitalized.

49. Do you have plenty of cabinet space in your kitchen?
We have plenty of cabinets, yes. Space? Not so much at present.

50. Ever been on your roof?
Yes, but not recently, thank God. I'm acrophobic, and standing on a metal roof is only less scary than trying not to knock the ladder over coming back down.

51. Do you own a stereo?
Yes... but one's an 8-track, and the other (in my stupidity) is mounted on the far side of the waterbed and can only be accessed by crawling across it.

52. How many TVs do you have?
Three, plus one in convention supplies. Generally small and cheap.

53. How many house phones?
Total of five landline phones (all same line), plus a cel (that doesn't work in the house and barely works outside, so I only turn it on when on the road).

54. Do you have a housekeeper?
A cleaning lady comes every two weeks for $50/day, spending as much time gossiping with the grand as actually cleaning.

55. What style do you decorate in?
"Style" presumes a deliberate plan.

56. Do you like solid colors in furniture or prints?

As a general rule, yes.

57. Is there a smoke detector in your home?
Yes, many.

58. In case of fire, what items would you grab if you only could make one quick trip?
Laptop cases, wallets, convention cash box.

59. Do you know how to work your electrical box?
Yes.

60. What temperature in your home is most comfortable to you?
78 degrees F.
