Yes. Texas won a thriller, upsettng USC. Yay. I'm too tired to whoop.

I put down cash for January rent for the flea market booth today. The two booths I preferred weren't available, so I ended up with one with only two tables, no cabinets, and a lot of empty space... which was all right, since the "full" load I had in the truck at the time didn't take up much space spread out. (Remember that "full"; I'll come back to it.)

I spent from noon to 4:30 driving to the flea market and setting stuff up- the last hour and a half of that fiddling with Dad's four unsorted boxes of junk jewelry. I did not get very far in that task AT ALL, so it looks like I'm going to offer a 50 cents per item grab bag from the boxes during sorting.

At 4:30 I left Onalaska and drove down to an auction at Dayton. I'd never been to Bid'N'Buy, but they had a lot of stuff; more importantly, they had a fairly small crowd of maybe forty people at maximum, not counting floor staff.

I spent.

Furniture, a bit beat up but cheap, including shelves needed to display at the flea market.

Artwork- quite a bit of it.

Lamps- a LOT of lamps.

Various small items, including a few dolls and what-nots.

And then, at the end of the sale, I bought the contents of

FIVE SIX FOOT TABLES...

... one of which was ENTIRELY BOOKS, and SO MANY BOOKS THEY BROKE THE TABLE...

... all five table deals together costing only $40 -after- the buyer's premium.

All told, my total -should- have been about $370... but you see, the auction encourages people to stay to the end by raffling off a $50 coupon on purchases when everything is sold.

I won.

Unfortunately, not only is the Exploder GENUINELY full now, but instead of a day of rest tomorrow I have to drive to the flea market again, unload, and go back to Dayton for A SECOND LOAD to get everything.

Between rent, two auctions to stock up, and projected gas costs, this project will have $700 invested in it. $400 return in January will be enough to go on with it, but I badly need every penny of that $700 back and THEN some.

No more buying, at least until all this stuff is well settled into the booth.

I open for business at 9 AM Friday.

Don't expect much out of me this weekend...
