This weekend's sales: $60.05
This weekend's expenses in gas and rent alone: $70, give or take a couple bucks.

That's not why I call it a failure.

Today I went through the booth, jotted down the prices marked on everything I have more than $2 in value, and added it up. I got $875.

Between stocking up at two auctions ($400), a month's rent ($140), a classified ad ($22) and gas (who knows anymore?) I expect to spend no less than $700 on this.

Granted, this isn't counting the books, or the small figurines or glassware, or most of the costume jewelry. However, I don't expect their -combined- total to go up more than another $200.

In short, IF I sell nearly EVERYTHING in the booth, I will break even. Otherwise I lose money.

And because of Bootleg #14, I DO have to sell everything. I can't even afford to buy any more stock- bills keep coming in, and I'm going to have to stop paying most of them to hold back money for Bootleg's print bill.

In short, I've made a pretty damn significant blunder attempting this.

Most of all, I really hate the place. I'm more idle at the market than I ever am at any convention, no matter how bad. I've had to cart a CD player up there so I don't have to listen to the godawful country "only the same top 10 hits ever played" station on the market PA. I loathe getting up at 6 or 7 in the morning on short sleep because I've tried to keep up with WLP things during the thirteen hours of the day which are not taken up by being at the market or driving to and from it.

Having that non-refundable ad in the paper means I'm committed for two out of the remaining three weekends. Barring unforeseen sales jumps, I'm pretty sure I'm going to try (and fail) to get the last week refunded and save a tank of gas- and a week, which is more valuable. I'll need to hit auctions and dump my flea market stock for whatever I can get in order to get Bootleg #14 out.
