Yay, booze!

redneckgaijinI don't know if I mentioned this before, but yesterday, May 13, Polk County had an election on whether or not the sale of alcohol would be permitted in the county. Technically there were two options on the ballot- one to allow bar sales, the other to allow package-store sales.
Well, both passed, by slightly less than a 3-2 majority... despite some massive spending on the part of local churches to buy ads in local papers, on local radio, and to put up signs opposing the measures.
I didn't openly campaign on the issue (although I signed the petition to get it on the ballot and voted early in favor), but I still think this election is a good sign for my own results come November.
