Hm. Unfortunate.

I've just heard that Hayao Miyazaki died yesterday of a stroke.
Damn, damn shame, esp. since he might just have had another decade or more of creativity in him. He was only in his sixties.
All the more reason for me to finish my damn novel. If the progression of my own immediate ancestors is any clue, I'm already well into borrowed time...
Edit: I should note that I have not been able to -confirm- Miyazaki's death. There's no apparent mention- at least, no English language mention- of it on the Studio Ghibli site or at nausicaa.net. This might be a misunderstanding, since a former Japanese prime minister -did- die (confirmed on cnn.com) on July 1. I'll be happy enough if I'm wrong, but I still need to finish that novel.
Edit^2: False alarm.
philfoglio and I will now write a hundred times on the chalkboard, "I shall not spread Internet rumors as fact."
