Playing with Miis...

So, the Nintendo Wii allows you to cobble together avatars, which they call Miis. Miis populate certain of the games- WiiSports (which the machine comes with) and WiiFit use them as the main players, and Super Mario Galaxy has them as an option to tell you which save-game belongs to who.

I've created several Mii characters to help provide semi-familiar faces in WiiFit especially. Granted, the palette of facial features, hairstyles, etc. is extremely limited... but mine, by a stroke of luck, is almost totally perfect:

Here's COG frontman Dr. Milo T. Pinkerton III, doctorpinkerton. Sorry, Doctor, but Mii doesn't offer clothes options- your shirt is whatever's given as "favorite color." I have no idea why your pants are red- they were black in the editing process. Also not options: true "heavy metal hair" or opaque glasses.



And finally, here's someone starcat_jewel knows QUITE well, but who isn't on LJ himself and never will be, by his own very definite statements on the subject:



Sorry, Lee, but I haven't even tried to make yours. Little things aside, Wii doesn't allow for special color streaks in hair. Likewise, a certain other female of my acquaintance hasn't got a Mii yet, because there's no mohawk hairstyle option, and quite frankly bald females look freaky in Miis.

(And to you WLP fans: female Miis got no boobs, so there won't be a Milkmaid Mii.)


I may tinker with more Miis down the road. If I do, should I share? Or has this already been TMI?
