Can't sleep, clown with a toothache will eat me...

So, Tuesday I finally committed to a dental appointment- just for X-rays, alas- two weeks thence.

Tuesday night, I was awakened once by toothache- a problem I'd not had at night before- brushed and rinsed with Listerine, relieved the ache, went to sleep.

Wednesday, again, twice.

Tonight, I've brushed and rinsed twice, and I can't get back to sleep. As a general rule, so long as I'm sitting or standing upright, the toothaches (plural) go away, but if I lie down for even a minute or two they rush back.

I want to go to sleep, dammit.

I wish I could speed up the dentist, but I'm not even sure I can pay for the two teeth I've decided to try to get fixed (or, in one case, removed), much less all the many problems my teeth have.

I've looked up toothache home remedies, and the only one I find that I have the stuff here for is a piece of onion... and I have no desire to possibly choke to death by going to sleep with a piece of fresh onion in my cheek, then having it go into my windpipe.

And the next run into town for supplies/groceries is at least Tuesday, possibly later...

I think the only night of my marriage I ever spent all of on the couch was the night I had a toothache and had to sleep sitting up. Got to the dentist the next day though.

Ouch. That was me early last spring, after skipping the dentist for a decade. I'll never make that costly, painful mistake again... good luck and you have all my sympathies!

Do you have any Clove in any form? Yes, it burns; but it will also put the toothache out for a while. Apply to the aching tooth itself.
The ache is from blood pressure...try extra pillows, the higher your head, the lower the pressure.
If there is an actual hole...try packing it with bits of Kleenex to seal it off.
